Loft insulation is a quick and a free or relatively cheap way for you to improve the energy efficiency of your house or housing, leading to a reduction in your energy bills and carbon footprint. It can also extend the life of a boiler by reducing the hours it is usually on.
It is a well-known fact that heat rises, so it is not surprising to learn that on average a quarter of the heat produced in a property is lost through the roof. Even properties that already have some loft insulation often do not have the amount recommended by modern building standards, or the material has displaced or degraded over time.
Our team of installers can insulate a loft (in an average sized house) up to modern standards in less than two hours including, draught proofing the loft-hatch and insulating any bare pipe work.
The days when rolls of itchy fibreglass insulation were laid across loft spaces are long gone. Modern loft insulation consists of environmentally friendly mineral fibres that are laid between and across the joists in your loft.
If your property or properties qualify under the ECO scheme we would be able to carry out the loft insulation for free. In the event that your property does not qualify, the cost of insulating your loft is still relatively affordable and with the potential reduction you could make on your energy bills, the insulation could pay for itself in just over two years.

As soon as we have received confirmation that your property meets the relevant criteria, we will call you to arrange a convenient time for the insulation to be installed.
It is important to check that your loft is easy to access and your joists should be of regular size and construction.
Your loft must not be boarded up, as we cannot remove boards to gain entry. However if less than one third of your loft is boarded, and you wish to retain it, we will work around it and leave it uncovered.
We use high quality mineral wool insulation and apply it in layers. The first layer of the insulation is laid between the joists.
The second layer is laid across the first at right angles to cover the joists, making the insulation up to the required depth, which is currently 270mm.
